Dear
Mr. Lyman:
It is a pleasure to thank you for all of your work
and commitment toward educating us about the dangers
of a diet based on meat and dairy. Your book
(Mad
Cowboy) and Dvd
lecture, and Robert
Cohen's work, have changed my life and my family's
diet. We so much appreciate that you share your knowledge
and
experience
with us, as this information is not altogether easy
to come by in America.
My numerous physicians never warned me about the
dangers of my diet, except for one. Last
year I was diagnosed with cancer and a bad liver;
I was 40 years
old. Of course it was shocking to me & my
family. after several surgeries to removed the ever-traveling
cancer masses from my chest, and enduring a lot of
pain
and fear, a new physician (from India) told me that
one of my problems was my diet. No other physician
had told
me this. No other physician told me to change my
diet. At any rate, this doctor advised me to immediately
give up all meat and diary.
Although it was a difficult transition for me, because
I loved drinking milk so much, I did stop drinking it.
Within 5 - 6 months of juicing vegetables and
eating raw fruits---my liver improved! The improvement
to my liver was so remarkable that the test was repeated,
and yes it was confirmed again. I was asked repeatedly
what i had changed in my diet to improve the test results,
but when I told them (two of my physicians) that I
followed the advice of a new visiting doctor to give
up all meat and diary, they looked at me with a puzzled
expression--almost like disbelief!
One physician insisted on ordering more blood tests, saying
that I was consuming too many vegetables and that I probably
would have too many minerals in my system that
would lead to complications, including high blood pressure.
He tested my pressure several times, but it was normal.
More blood tests were ordered, this time to see whether
I caused damage to myself by eating too many vegetables
and fruits; all tests indicated "normal" (though
my liver isn't normal yet). This terrible cancer
and liver experience has taught me so much and has completely
changed my life; cancer has a way of doing that, as you
already know.
It also taught me that physicians do not have all of the
answers and that we need to do a lot of investigating
of our own--that's how I found the "NotMilk" website this year. Mr. Cohen has changed my life, although I have
never met him, I am so appreciative of his dedication to
informing about the dangers of dairy. I read your book,
Mad
Cowboy, and watched your Dvd
lecture, because Cohen
recommended it on his website.
I gave my brother, Michael, who is a physician in
Los Angeles County, your Dvd lecture, and although he has
a very busy schedule, Dr. Mike watched it 3 times! I
supposed that he missed this lecture at the University
of Michigan!
Now, I am ready to order and read your new book entitled,
No More Bull.
Please
let me know when you will be in California next. I'd
like to purchase the tickets to send my physician brother
and some of his doctor friends to one of your lectures.
I feel very strongly that we need to spread the word
(all the information that you have to offer), so that
others who don't know any better (as I did) can change
lives for the better. It really is a drag being
sick, and I'd like to spare others from my experience.
Once
again, thank you for your dedication and commitment
to educate and inform.
Best regards & much happiness in the New Year,
Mary & Ethan Meyer
